What can a PoE industrial switch do
Industrial PoE switches are the foundation for building industrial Internet of Things and intelligent manufacturing networks, widely used in: Connect PLCs, HMIs, robots, IO modules, etc., supply power to sensors and actuators, realize interconnection of production line. This paper explains the basics of PoE, explores how the industrial sector can benefit from PoE technology, and describes the PoE capabilities that Cisco ® industrial switches offer and the tools available for proper design, monitoring, and deployment. What is PoE? PoE works by injecting low-voltage. Managed PoE (Power over Ethernet) switches combine network management capabilities with the ability to deliver power and data over a single Ethernet cable. Since a single cable delivers power and data simultaneously, PoE installation is less expensive than traditional wiring.
